Reporting live from the Champions Trophy. Although many so called experts believe that South Africa and Pakistan are the favorites, I beg to differ. South Africa's bowling is not upto the mark. Steyn is good, the rest need helpful wickets. Nitini hasn't played in a while and Parnell is very young and their spinners are "average" at best. You can't win a tournament with this kind of an attack.
For me, the top 2 teams are clearly Sri Lanka and Australia . Sri Lanka have a varied attack and have so many all rounders Dilshan, Jayasuria,Angelo .. add to it Murali, Mendis, Malinga and Kulasekara and you have a very decent and varied attack. If their batsmen click SL should do very well.
Australia have class in Ricky Ponting and Clarke . And 2 great youngsters in White and Fergusson. Their fielding is top class , there is no reason why they won't do well.
Pakistan should also do well, but their batting remains a concern on seaming wickets. How they cope in Joberg remains to be seen.
The rest of the teams are all very average , who can shine on their day .. for me its either Sri Lanka or Australia ..
